Kakum Ghana
Ghana forest, also known as the Kakum Forest, is one of the most biological diverse ecosystems in the african continent. It is filled with a verity of different, not only animal, but plant species. Kakum, is suffering for a lot of animal extinction and land loss over the past years. This forest covers over 350 km2 and a huge verity of species. Thousands of people have been taking this territory for timber and agricultural expansion. Lots of this beautiful animals found in this forest has lost their homes, meaning that at any moment most of this animals would disappear in and instant.
Why is it famous
Kakum contains a huge diversity of animals, like any other rain forest, many animals found in this land are wild species. This forest is covered by 40 diferent mamal species and over 2000 diferent bird species! Kakum is also known by the large number of amphibeans it has an its huge verity of butterflies. Kakum is also known for its huge trees, each of this trees is around 65m tall!
Tourism
Their are many rain forest in the world that area not considered good places for visiting, but Kakum, is a great place to visit. There are many places and historical settlements in this area that are visited by many tourist during the year. For example, the Elmina castle and the Cape Coast Castle. The masquerading festival, is a festival that is celebrated the first of January every year in this area of Ghana. Many peoeple around the world come and visit this place to see this beautiful and unique celebration like this one and experience other cultures. Hiking, camping, bird viewing are some innovated activities available in the territory of Kakum Ghana. Bird viewing is amazing, having the opportunity to observe over 2000 different species of birds is a unique activity. Kakum, ghana is a special place to visit, even though it is a place that is been destroyed little by little, people should take care of it and preserve all of the amazing types of things it contains.
